FORMER tennis star Alicia Molik loves music so much that her playlist is overflowing. Just missing out on a place in her top 10 for summer are Norah Jones, Joss Stone, Yo-Yo Ma and Bob Marley.

"I like music that takes me away to a different place and gets me thinking or shuts me off. I'm not into anything too heavy. "I'm a pretty chilled-out person, so I think this is reflected in my tastes."

Molik retired from international tennis last year after a string of injuries but she stays fit.

"Mostly I listen to the music on my iPod in the gym or running," she says.

"I guess I have been influenced by friends. All my high school mates were Silverchair fanatics . . . I liked [the band] then, I love them now. That is what you call musical evolution."

And while she isn't usually a big podcaster, she says she gets into it when she's travelling overseas, so she can stay in touch with what's going on in Australia.

An occasional online music buyer, she prefers to shop for her tunes the old-fashioned way.
